Ministry of National Education (Kemendiknas) has budgeted funds of USD 115 million, or approximately Rp1, 034 trillion for the development of vocational schools (SMK) standard international school status (RSBI) in Indonesia. Director of Vocational Kemendiknas, Joko Sutrisno explained, the fund is planned to be used for quality improvement and development of vocational RSBI up to 90 pilot schools and 230 schools built RSBI alliance. "As many as 90 RSBI that we select from 226 vocational schools in all over Indonesia, who received her students reached 40 percent," explained Ricardo in Jakarta, Sunday (22 / 8).
Joko explained, the selection criteria of other schools are schools that have students more than 600 children, possess sufficient land for expansion and development has a principal who has good leadership. "We plan to be in every province should have one vocational RSBI pilot or model," he continued.
In addition, the light Joko, every vocational RSBI should also have one advantage subjects with the language of instruction in English and partnering with industry in domestic and international. "For any student achievement side, we give the condition that the students will attend school at SMK RSBI preferably students who have an average rating of 7 subjects of mathematics at the National Examination (UN)," said Joko.
Joko explained, every 90 SMK RSBI pilot must have three built RSBI CMS alliance. SMK this alliance will be selected based on their potential to grow and ideally have at least one class of programs that have the same majors RSBI CMS pilot. "SMK RSBI must strengthen the ability of applied mathematics and science, entrepreneurship and information and communication technology," he added.
Joko further added, plans to realize the existence of this international standard vocational school in accordance with the mandate of the National Education Law No. 20/2003 Article 50 paragraph 3 and 5 and PP No. 19 year 2005 on National Education Standards Article 61 paragraph 1 and 2 and No 38 years 2007 on the Division of Governmental Affairs between the Government, the Provincial Government and Local Government District.
